Eric has successfully helped companies — from Fortune 500 to start-up — across many industries in North America, Europe, and the Middle East. His passion and expertise are supporting leaders to articulate and coalesce a clear business strategy, redesigning and implementing the necessary organization changes to accelerate achievement of their growth objectives, and enlarging the productive capacity of current and emerging leaders to effectively collaborate and execute the enterprise agenda.
Prior to joining Navalent Eric led the Organization and Talent Management organization at Hallmark Cards, Inc. and was responsible for large and small-scale organization design and change initiatives throughout the enterprise. He also led the human capital and succession planning, recruitment, talent development, and executive coaching practices at Hallmark. Eric has held management and executive positions with Intel, AT&T Capital, Cargill, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).
Eric is the author of several articles, and co-author of the Amazon #1 book, Rising to Power: The Journey of Exceptional Executives resulting from a ten-year study of executive leadership. HBR named the research among 2016’s “Ideas that mattered most.” Eric earned a business management undergraduate degree and holds a graduate degree in Organizational Behavior from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University.
The Whole Me
Eric’s life is made complete by his wife, children, and grandchildren. Being outdoors is another passion, especially canyoneering in Utah with his sons. Travel, collecting artwork, gardening, and regularly attending Sporting KC matches round out his therapeutic practices. Nights and weekends are filled as he leads a church congregation of 450 members. He is inspired by and finds purpose in the quote, “Service is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this earth.”
